HPC, Den Haag
Last Friday, July 4th, 2014, A New Dawn hit the stage again, after a period of absence. During a 45 minute set, the band once again showed what they were made of. Songs from the entire A New Dawn-catalogue were played, ranging from the first album "Falling From Grace" (2008), to a yet-to-be-released new track "The Tell-Tale Heart". We are looking forward to new shows that are now being scheduled for this year and 2015. It's gonna be great! Pictures of the show at HPC can be found in our gallery. Pictures are made by Dorothy Everwennink and Ron Baggerman.
At the very last minute we can confirm that we're doing a show on Saturday at the Musicon (The Hague). Unfortunately the band "Face Meets Concrete" had to cancel and "A New Dawn" was asked to step in. As we like to be on stage for our fans, we said "yes". What else could we do :)
New shows confirmed
It's been a while but now the holidays are over, we're hitting the stages again.
At the moment we have three new shows confirmed. The first change to see and hear A New Dawn is at 12 October when we're playing with Kowai at Bodegraven ( Jongerencentrum de Zon )
It will be our first show where Michiel will be stepping in as guitarist / grunter.
... I do!
On Friday September 20th, 2013, our dear drummer Luc van den Berge married his beloved Anouk Seignette. We congratulate the happy couple and wish them a beautiful life together! If you want to congratulate Luc with his marriage, please feel free to do so at our upcoming show at De Zon in Bodegraven on October 12.
Due to his work on other projects, consuming a lot of time, Mike decided to leave "A New Dawn". Since last year, Mike graduated and became a full-time musician. Playing a lot of gigs with "From Heavens Expelled", rehearsing for theatre tours and working on his own "The Aspie Project" takes a lot of time and choices had to be made. After consulting the members of "A New Dawn", Mike made the decision to step down as the grunter of AND. Although we regret his decision (as does Mike by the way) we fully understand and support his decision. Mike leaves a big gap and (literally) large shoes to fill, but we feel honoured that Mike was a part of AND for more than two years, contributing to the sound of the band.
Mike joined AND in 2010, filling in for Michiel, who studied in the USA for six months. After Michiel returned, Mike was asked to become a full member of the band. Mike, having a very destinctive sound and technique, was responsible for a large part of the sound of the past two years. Although he leaves AND, the Dutch Metalscene is relatively small and we're sure we cross paths with Mike on many future occasions. Although we're losing a member, we've gained a good friend.
On June the 7th, we'll play our last show with Mike. Help us to make it a special one for him, by showing up "an mass". See you on "Koetstock" on June the 7th. The festival starts at 20:00.
